NBC Renews World of Dance for a Fourth Season!

From Deadline…

NBC is bringing back two of its hit alternative series for another go-round. The network has renewed Jennifer Lopez-led World of Dance for a fourth season and America’s Got Talent: The Champions for a second season.

A strong ratings performer, World of Dance has averaged a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall in Live+ seven-day Nielsens season-to-date. That’s up 33% vs NBC’s year-ago 18-49 average in the Sunday 8-10 PM timeslot. The series also delivers a strong upscale audience, with a 115 index among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes and a 118 among adults 18-49 with four or more years of college.

World of Dance is also a top digital performer, generating 22% of its live+ 35 day plus digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #1 biggest percentage among NBC alternative series.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. World of Dance Season 3 Premieres with Strong Ratings

Per Deadline, WoD got it’s best ratings since the second episode this past summer. It’s second in the demo behind the voice.

Both shows are on the bubble for next season, and were topped in primetime by the dominant The Voice (2.0, 10.55M) and the season premiere of World of Dance (1.4, 6.27M) on demo leader NBC as well as CBS’ crime dramas, which took the top viewership spot in each hour as the network won the night overall in that metric.

That is down 25% in the demo and approximately the same percentage in total viewers compared to the Season 1 premiere. This season’s premiere was in line with the first season’s ratings average though and topped its timeslot by a wide margin.

Tuesday Night Ratings For World Of Dance, Down In Weekly Rankings For July 10th -16th

World Of Dance TV Ratings Update: A Two Hour Time Slot Next Season? Should Viewer Voting Be Added?

Just a little update on TV Ratings: According to TV By The Numbers for the week of June 26 – July 2, 2017, “World of Dance” came in second again. What’s more, both America’s Got Talent and World of Dance are the #1 and #2 shows for a 5th straight week. Amazing. As Miss Heidi told Courtney and I just yesterday, let’s hope (and could the producer’s be hoping as well?) this garnishes a two-hour time slot for “World Of Dance” next season. That way… the show doesn’t have to edit so much and rush through contestants, performances etc. We want to hear more of their stories and see full dances from each of them. Just think…the judges and host would have time to perform and dance too. I would also love to see them add VIEWER VOTING and for it to be a LIVE show! Are we dreaming and asking too much? What do you think? Let us know in comments!
