World of Dance, Season 4 – The FINAL, Live Blog

Dang, almost missed it. Good thing I turned on my TV early. Didn’t realize they were starting early tonight.

Opening moves from all the dancers are looking fine!!

Jennifer says it feels like anyone’s game and she doesn’t know, for the first time, who’s going to win.

Oxygen, from the Netherlands, is an upper group and they are getting mentored by the judges. Ne-Yo says they have a slight advantage. Jen likes the choreography but she needs more at the end. Derek says the final 8-count should be the 8-count of your life.

Derek’s jacket is lovely, by the way. 🙂 Unicorn gel pod. LOL!! Such boys.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. World of Dance, Season 4 – The Semi Finals Part TWO, Live Blog

So here we are at the last week already! Tonight is the rest of the semi-finals and tomorrow night we find out who wins. As I said last week, I’m not sure I’m a fan of all the changes they made to the show this season – one of the main selling points was the scoring system. I suggested something similar for DWTS because the judging was soooo horrible, much of the time. This show has less of an *obvious* agenda that DWTS, but their scoring system seems much more legitimate. I also miss the divisions that hold through to the finale. Ah well, maybe they’ll change it back next season or maybe they’ll even make improvements that I agree with.

One thing that hasn’t changed….Derek Hough is just gorgeous. Especially for someone so goofy. 🙂 It’s nice that he is a genuinely nice, kind man…I’ve met him a couple times and each time it was a real treat. I will miss him on TV every week. Not enough for him to go back to DWTS out of boredom though. 🙂

World of Dance, Season 4 – Week TEN Semi Finals Live Blog

So, I was reflecting on the season thus far and I’ve kinda decided that I liked it better before all the changes. At first it didn’t seem they made any changes beyond going to the warehouse. But as we went a long I realized they very subtly changed EVERYTHING. It’s now a simple yes or no vote instead of the scoring system which actually set the apart from the very subjective DWTS or SYTYCD. There doesn’t appear to be a difference between Upper and Upper Groups or Junior and Junior Groups…the uppers are all mashed together as are all the juniors. Don’t think I care for that. So how much of the old stuff will come back tonight, now that they’re on the “big stage”. The scoring in particular seemed important to me.

Am I alone in this?? Any other subtle change that I missed?
