Tuesday Night Ratings For World Of Dance, Down In Weekly Rankings For July 10th -16th

Once again, ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘World of Dance’ dominated last night’s ratings. According to Hollywood Reporter, no other network could even compete. Also, “World Of Dance” is staying steady with 7+ million viewers again. However, it was down by a tenth of a point in the demo from the previous week.

Though there are usually one or two other original offerings going against the powerful reality duo, that was not the case last night. NBC put out steady episodes of its two big summer series, easily owning the night across the board. America’s Got Talent naturally led, posting a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 12 million viewers.

World Of Dance TV Ratings Update: A Two Hour Time Slot Next Season? Should Viewer Voting Be Added?

Just a little update on TV Ratings: According to TV By The Numbers for the week of June 26 – July 2, 2017, “World of Dance” came in second again. What’s more, both America’s Got Talent and World of Dance are the #1 and #2 shows for a 5th straight week. Amazing. As Miss Heidi told Courtney and I just yesterday, let’s hope (and could the producer’s be hoping as well?) this garnishes a two-hour time slot for “World Of Dance” next season. That way… the show doesn’t have to edit so much and rush through contestants, performances etc. We want to hear more of their stories and see full dances from each of them. Just think…the judges and host would have time to perform and dance too. I would also love to see them add VIEWER VOTING and for it to be a LIVE show! Are we dreaming and asking too much? What do you think? Let us know in comments!

CBS had 4.8 million viewers, Fox had 2.1 million, Univision had 1.7 million, ION Television had 1.3 million, Telemundo had 880,000 and the CW had 820,000.

World Of Dance Ratings Slip A Little, Still Dominating As A New Summer Series

According to Deadline, World Of Dance slipped in ratings a little this week. It lost 1.2 million viewers. However, World Of Dance was the best Week 2 new summer series.

That said, it slipped from previous week’s premiere 2.4 rating and 9.7M viewers, and also off its Week 2 America’s Got Talent leadin (2.6, 12.2M).

Armed with two original reality competition series, NBC (2.4, 10.9M) dominated primetime. CBS (0.6, 5.8M) and ABC (0.6, 2.4M) were a lap behind, with mostly-rerun fare. Fox went all in with repeats and came in fourth (0.4, 1.6M), edging out CW (0.3, 1.2M) which was rewarded for serving up an original episode of iZombie (0.4, 1.2 million).

NBC World Of Dance Premiere Strong TV Ratings, #2 Show Overall On Tuesday Night

Good news for World Of Dance’s first TV Ratings. World Of Dance dominated it’s timeslot. Not only that, it was the night’s #2 show overall. Here is more from Headline Planet….

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, the episode drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 9.75 million overall viewers.

NBC led into “World Of Dance” with the season premiere of “America’s Got Talent,” which averaged a 2.6 rating and 12.07 million viewers from 8-10PM. It was Tuesday’s top show in both columns.

“AGT” was even in the demo and up in viewership from last season’s premiere, which drew a 2.6 and 11.67 million viewers.

— Given the strong “AGT” lead-in support, there was little chance of “World Of Dance” flopping Tuesday night.

More at Headline Planet.

ETA: Broadway World also writes that “World Of Dance” had “the biggest regular slot debut of 2017 to date.” Too awesome! Here is more from the link…

The series premiere of WORLD OF DANCE (2.4/9 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) is the #1 premiere of 2017 on the broadcast nets in 18-49 and total viewers (excluding previews) and also the top regular-slot debut on the Big 4 networks in both measures since Premiere Week last fall (in 18-49 since “This Is Us,” 2.8 on Sept. 20, 2016, and in total viewers since “MacGyver,” 10.7 million on Sept. 23, 2016). Is the top series debut for a summer alternative show on cable or broadcast in five years (since NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior,” 2.4 on May 21, 2012). Is the most-watched summer alternative series debut across cable or broadcast in nine years (since ABC’s “Wipeout, June 24, 2008). Is NBC’s most-watched summer series debut in nearly 10 years, since “The Singing Bee” on July 10, 2007 (13.3 million). The show, which features Jennifer LOPEZ as a coach and executive producer, soars +71% versus NBC’s average in the timeslot last summer (2.4 vs. 1.4, L+SD, non-sports). Dominates the time period in every key category, doubling the combined ABC-CBS competition in all key demographics.
